All from dust

1 | Process

They take dust and make paper.
They combine calcium carbonate with resin. Add heat and pressure. And create something new.
A velvet writing surface. Impossibly smooth. Impervious to liquid. Infinitely stronger. All from dust

2 | Materials

Calcium carbonate is natural and abundant. That’s why they use it.
You can pull it from the earth’s crust or the ocean floor.
But they don’t.
It’s the 21st century: they recycle.

3 | Scraps and endcuts

Excess defines the modern world. It doesn’t define Karst.
Every factory creates waste. Endcuts and damaged batches rot away on the factory floor.
At Karst they’re able to recycle their scraps in-house. They’re modern in everything they do. Yesterday’s leftovers become today’s paper.

4 | End of life

They take a Cradle to Cradle® certified, biometric approach to product and system design: considering the full life-cycle of a product, and its enduring impact on the ecosystem it lives in.
Recyclable, photodegradable, and compostable in commercial landfill.

Impervious to liquid.

Don’t let accidents or weather derail your productivity. This notebook survives splashes, sprinkles, sprays, splatters and spills. It’s not afraid of a little coffee, tea or soft drink either. Because Stone Paper is waterproof, your pen will never bleed through the page either.

Infinitely stronger.

Stone paper seems to baffle the senses. The writing experience has been described as buttery, velvety, silky smooth. The lack of plant fibers and grain direction makes writing effortless and hand-cramp free. Unless you write with a kung-fu grip.
